Switch-a-Roo + Alter Ego

That's right!  The Lollipop Girls of Candy Shoppe Designs have switched design teams with the awesome DT at The Pink Ninjas for this next challenge!  

Alter Ego

Alter ego.  We've all got one.  Are you someone by day and someone else by night?  What's your split personality?  Show us your alter ego ---no matter how deranged and crazy it may be.  :)

What you have to do:

*Include some type of splattering on your creation (using paint, ink, etc.) and

*Make your title pink

This was my first time splattering paint (on anything). LOL  A paintbrush didn't work for me so I used an old toothbrush and flicked paint onto my layout.  I had splatters of pink paint in my hair, on my face and shirt, everywhere.  It got a little messy but it was fun and different!

 Journaling:  My bad!  That's just my alter ego talking again.  I wish I could do it all but I can't.  I am human and I do have limitations.  I fail miserably sometimes but I will never stop trying! :)

...MIA...

Yes, I've been a little MIA when it comes to updating this blog.  Since my hubby's been gone it's been non-stop "things to do"...and just plain ole living.  I've had to make several phone calls to take care of things.   For instance, we have a sprinkler system and I had to call around and find someone to come and winterize it for me.  I have no idea how to do that!  Finding a reputable lawn maintenance service is another.  I'll pick weeds and plant flowers in my little garden--but I don't mow and have never picked up a weed eater. LOL   Why is this a big deal for me?   Why does Jeff usually take care of all important phone call "matters"?  I HATE talking on the phone---PERIOD!  Too bad I can't just text..LOL  Jeff, if you get the chance to read this...I just want you to know how much I love and appreciate you.  Stay safe baby...kiss, kiss. 

I want to share a little something with you that's part of a project I'm working on for Brianna's class.....

 

We did a little 5 minute photo shoot yesterday to get some pictures-- specifically of her making her best "scary" faces. LOL  I showed a couple to my mom afterward and she goes, "She looks POSSESSED!!!".  Ummm...yah, that's the point.  LOL

The above picture is as close to being spooky as she'll probably ever get.  She FINALLY decided, after going back and forth between like 4 different costumes, what she wants to be for Halloween this year:

And found this cute Cauldron handbag for her to collect her candy in:

 

During that 5 minute "Spooky-Shoot", I did manage to snap some super sweet pictures of her....wow, she's looking so grown up.  She'll be 5 in November..cannot believe it.

Buzzy Bees and Little Monkeys....

Good afternoon!  How's your week going?  Mine is going fast!  I sure am looking forward to tomorrow night though.  Momo (Brianna's grandma) is keeping her for part of the weekend to give Jeff and I some alone time. 

This morning I was looking at the calendar and got choked up---8 days.... only 8 days left.....until Brianna and I have to say goodbye and see Jeff board a plane for Afghanistan.  He has to be at the airport super early Friday morning on October 2nd.  

It's funny.  Just up until a few days ago, we've done nothing but nit pick at eachother and fight (over stupid little crap, I might add)...... heck, I even broke something (which I've never done before and I'm certainly not proud of it).  But now--we're clinging to eachother and it feels good.  It's like an emotional rollercoaster.  A couple of weeks ago,  I was talking with my mom about all the things we'd been going through because I was worried about our marriage and she reminded me that this is what we always do.  We go through this EVERY time before he deploys.  It's just a natural way of dealing with him leaving---it hardens you up--so to speak.   Craziness, I tell ya! 

Anywho....really looking forward to this weekend!  :)

Onto something scrappy..

I finished this layout this morning.  Figured I better get at least one picture scrapped from Halloween last year before the next one comes up...in what, 37 days.  lol 

 

It's hard to tell because these pictures are bad (apologize)--there's absolutely NO sunshine today, but on the white "BEE" letters...they are glittered white and have a raised glass like finish..really pretty.  I  first painted them and then added some Doodlebug glitter.  Lastly, I covered them with a coat of Diamond Glaze. It gave them a neat effect.

Would you just look at these monkeys---I can't believe they kept me up so late Tuesday night!  Hehe..

 

Yup..Wednesday was Brianna's turn to bring snacks for school so I baked and decorated 4 dozen of these lil cuties!  Just had to share...I love monkeys and cupcakes.   :)  You can find the recipe here.

Yah, not getting any layouts done because I'm busy doing things like this!  :)  I used Bazzill cardstock, K&Company Halloween Whimsy Papers, orange grosgrain ribbon, some OLD mini Making Memories ribbon slides for the buckles, and some swarovski crystals for a touch of bling on the back.   They're going on display with all my other "stuffs"!  They'd be so stinkin' cute stuffed with candy for party favors!

You want to make a pair too?  I knew ya did!!  Here's the pattern from the talented and inspiring Ellen Hutson.

Unfinished Business...Paper bag album

As I was unpacking some of my scrap stuff I found an unfinished paper bag album that I had started working on before moving.  I happily started working on this lil album again and I feel so much better now that it's finally finished.  It's just too cute!  I love all the little flaps and "hidden" slots for extra pages and photos. :)

I simply stapled a ribbon to the top of each little page so it's easy peasy to pull right out.

 

 

 

 

 

That's pretty much it!  It was fun to work on --definitely different.  I still wanna try a coffee filter album.  Is that considered "old school" now? lol  Oh well...I'll keep doing whatever makes me happy.  :)  Have a super weekend!
