It's that time ladies...time to STRIP!!

LOL!!  Not literally, of course! :)  Lynnette is kicking off the launch of Candy Shoppe Designs in a fun way with the very first challenge being "Striptease 101".  All you have to do is use strips of something on your paper creations.  Here's what I created:

 

 

 

 

 

There are, however, rules!  Oh come on..it wouldn't be a challenge if there weren't rules right?  hehe :)

*You must use these colors on your paper creations with the cream color being the dominant color:

 

AND

*You must also use something with a golden tone to it.

Awesome...Crazy...Beautiful...NEWS!

What's awesome?  I'm still alive and I finally have a bit of time to sit down and blog! hehe :) 

What's crazy?  Oh, lots of stuff.  Brianna Boo is really sick!  Bless her heart--she's never sick!  So, we've been watching her carefully.  On top of that--I'm sick as well.    Jeff is on leave right now and so even with the runny noses, sneezing, coughing, and fevers---we painted my scraproom this past weekend.  We went with "Robin's Egg Blue".  I love it!   Now I just need to get my new furniture and I'll be 100% happy.  :)

What's beautiful?  And well, just freakin' awesome??? Today was the official launch day for Candy Shoppe Designs!!  And guess what?  I'm on the DT!!!!  Whooot---whooot!  Don't ask me how in the world I made it---the other gals are super uber talented!  It's really an honor!  So...It's official and I don't have to keep it secret anymore---I'm a Lollipop Girl for Candy Shoppe Designs!!

Our first assignment was to create an "About Me" layout highlighting our lollipop flavor nicknames for launch day---Raspberry Dazzle....that's me.  :)

Calling All {A}ngels

It's Monday--a new week with a fresh perspective.  :)  How did your weekend go?  Our's was pretty relaxing.  We rented some movies and vegged out in front of the tv.  My favorite movie was "Confessions of a Shopaholic".  Super cute movie!  Hmmm....kind of makes me wonder if I have that problem.  Nah...I just need a little retail therapy every once in a while. :)

And thank you all for your kind comments on my last post.  I apologize---I try to keep my blog an upbeat place.   But, I can't promise I won't need to vent every once in a while..LOL

You know how sometimes, pictures just don't do something justice?  On this layout I did this weekend, that's the case.  It has dimension that you just can't see in the pictures.  There's different types of textured papers on here, including the soft crushed velvet cardstock by Doodlebug. I adore the fabric covered alphas by American Crafts, too.  Because I LOVE using white on my layouts---I went completely white (except for the hint of silver) on this one.   This is Brianna Boo when she was 2 years old and still running around in diapers.  I love her little dimple and it's hard to tell, but she was droolin' (she did that when she got happy and excited)..lol

 

 

Gonna go finish up some laundry before I have to pick up my little angel.  Oh...and today, she rode the "big bad bus" for the first time.  :)

 

Warm it Up!

Wow!  It's Friday already.  Where does the time go?  I wanted to jump online and post before I head out for a full day of shopping...gotta love those tax free back to school days! :)

Every year I look forward to setting up a Fall display outside.  This year, Brianna was eager to help me. Decorating quickly turned into a photo op!  I couldn't resist...she was just too darn cute!

Just another manic Monday...

Haha...nah...it's actually pretty good...not too manic..just enough to keep things interesting.  Happy Monday to ya!  Whew...I'm actually getting some things done and it feels hella good.  :)

I enrolled Brianna Boo in Pre-K this morning.  I'm tellin' ya..I'm more nervous and anxious about her going than she is.  She's a little social butterfly anyways...can't wait to meet new friends and stuff.  

This past weekend we went to the party store and got everything to decorate for my mom's birthday.  I'm not doing a theme per se...but I do have a color scheme and all.  Earlier, she had mentioned how much she loves the color magenta and bright yellow together.  I agree--it makes a fun color combo and so that's the colors I'm mainly going with.  The balloons are ordered --picking them up Saturday morning before the party.  They didn't have a banner I liked so....dragging out my cricut expression here in a bit and I'm making my own.  Should be fun...smirk. :)  If it turns out ok..I'll post a pic..LOL  If not---then you can just wonder!

See this picture...I LOVE this picture.  I took it for a Valentine's Day photo shoot.  Bad thing is....after shooting several cute shots..I realized I had my ISO up way too high!  Not the perfect picture--but it's perfectly Brianna (with her long hair and all...miss her long hair..sniffle sniffle).   I have this framed and sitting in my bedroom.  I swear..every time I glance at it.....I smile and my heart melts.  Many things come to mind when I look at it too...little nicknames we call her.

When it came to scrapping it, I listed ALL those names and titled it "Terms of Endearment".

I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee and my head is just a spinnin' from all that I've got to do in the next couple of days/ weeks.  I've got a birthday party to plan, projects and cleaning around the house that need to be done, shopping to do, get things squared away so Brianna can start Pre-K, layouts I want to do...on and on and on...

Taking deep breaths.....(mumble to myself, "One day at a time, Sandy".)

Now onto something scrappy...I actually drug out the sewing machine for this one...hadn't sewn on a layout in a LONG while..was intimidated. LOL 

And...was trying to give this a 1950's look or something...not sure if I accomplished that. Haha!  Love the October Afternoon "Cherry Hill" line but it was hard for me to work with for some reason.

 

 

 

 

Oh yes..there's a new Pre-Challenge up at Candy Shoppe Designs called "Warm it Up".   It looks fun but it might just kick my butt!! :)  You have to use WARM colors---definitely a challenge!

Spread Your Wings...

It's been raining ALL day here and from the look of the weather forecast, it's not gonna let up ALL week.  Blah!!!  It's strange.  I used to love rain and thunderstorms when I was younger.  I'm completely opposite now.  I NEED sunshine!  Sunshine, mind you, not humid HEAT.  LOL  I'm way happier when the sun is shining.  I always thought that when "other" people used to say that, it was just a bunch of bull.  But NOPE..it's totally true.  Bring on the sunshine!

The other day, I broke down and bought some new scrappin' goodies.  One of my favorites is the new line "Spread Your Wings" by 3 Bugs in a Rug.  Really adorable stuff with great color!

Unfinished Business...Paper bag album

As I was unpacking some of my scrap stuff I found an unfinished paper bag album that I had started working on before moving.  I happily started working on this lil album again and I feel so much better now that it's finally finished.  It's just too cute!  I love all the little flaps and "hidden" slots for extra pages and photos. :)

I simply stapled a ribbon to the top of each little page so it's easy peasy to pull right out.

 

 

 

 

 

That's pretty much it!  It was fun to work on --definitely different.  I still wanna try a coffee filter album.  Is that considered "old school" now? lol  Oh well...I'll keep doing whatever makes me happy.  :)  Have a super weekend!

Little Blossom..

This layout is about when, on spur of the moment, we got Brianna's ears pierced. I didn't have my camera with me at the time but got some pictures as soon as we got home. I love, love, love pink and chocolate brown together!

Yes, these papers are old--a blast from the past you might say!  These are old My Mind's Eye. They are still new to me though.  Because of moving and being uprooted so much, I haven't been able to enjoy all the goodies I've bought and spent so much money on..haha!  Now that we are finally getting settled in our new home, I'm pullin' out all of those goodies and using them!  So fun! :)
